The Issues - Big 3 Seminars
Home   >>   Ministries

We believe the big questions in life are just as important as practical day-to-day concerns. For most people, these are important questions:
  • Is any religion – let alone Christianity – actually, factually “true?”
  • Why do bad things happen to good people?
  • Was I created, or did I just get here by accident?
In our seminars, we have answered these questions. Seminars are available at all TCC locations. Below are previews of their content:

Is Any Religion True?

All religions say very different things about morals, heaven, God, and our place and purpose in the world. Either one must be true and all others false – or they are all false.

In our Facts Behind the Faith seminar, we examine the evidence that at least one religion – any religion must be true. Afterward, we look at the facts surrounding Christianity:
  • Archaeology and secular histories.
  • Textual criticism of the Bible.
  • Fulfilled prophecy of the Bible.
  • The resurrection of Jesus.
This seminar demonstrates that it requires greater faith to not believe in God.

Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

If God put us here just to cause us to suffer and kill us, what kind of God is he?

Thankfully, that was never God’s intention. God made the world perfect. He set human beings up for success and bliss. However, God gave people free will, and against all odds, humans chose to sin. As a result:
  • The world is a “train wreck” where we should expect bad things.
  • Our enemy is in charge of the world, and he attacks anyone he can indiscriminately.
  • God cannot completely fix what we have broken because God cannot break his own promise about the consequences of sin.

God is ultimately sovereign. He will eventually end this world and create a perfect world. Check out our seminar Why Bad Things Happen to Good People to understand how all of this works.

Was I Created?

In our Creation vs. Evolution seminar, we offer an alternative to both typical philosophies on the origin of human beings.

The Bible is unspecific on the age of the Earth. Darwinian macroevolution is implausible and lacking answers. In this seminar, we demonstrate that creation is necessary and that significant evidence exists for creation. Topics include:

  • Reliability of dating techniques.
  • The fossil record.
  • Beneficial mutations and irreducible complexity.
